Camp Day in Agoundis Valley!

Coordinating with the American Language Center Rabat's Community Service Program (ALC-CSP), RC grew a donation of clothes into a two-day activity which included three villages (Aguerda, Atki, and Ait Moussa) located in the Agoundis Valley of the High Atlas Mountains in Morocco.

When we arrived on Saturday, we dispersed the ALC-CSP Volunteers to the three villages to implement activities. We hit almost every demographic (the men's workshop will be in May) including activities for the 4 to 7 year olds in all three villages, activities for the 8 to 12 years olds of the villages in the Aguerda and Taghorghist Primary Schools, a Teen's Goal Setting workshop in all three villages, and a Women's Cooperative and Business Planning workshop in Aguerda. In addition, the renovated Kindergarten in Aguerda and the Taghorghist Primary School were painted. Aguerda's Primary School was later painted by the villagers and students.

The next day, we woke up to watch the sunrise and began organizing our final event - the Clothing, Blanket, and Food Donation Drive! With the help of the local Aguerda Association, a total of 85 Donation Bags were distributed throughout Aguerda (57) and Atki (28). These Donation Bags consisted of Donated Clothing items for men, women, and children, a Bag of Food Items (oil, flour, grains, sugar, and tomato paste), and a new Blanket.

Our team distributed first in Aguerda and then the Aguerda Association distributed to Atki. RC's Field Officer, Jamila Hadi, and the local association also took charge of distributing the 100+ English Teacher and Textbooks to Talaat N'Yacoub High School donated by the ALC.
